From Sabbath to Sunday Re-examine

The Sabbath was given to man on the 7th day of creation week.. It was the first day that Adam and Eve saw. They Worship the Creator on they day that God Blessed, and made Holy. The 7th day Sabbath is all mankind.

God knew that man will forget about His Sabbath that is why He said remember..Before the children of Israel was given the Ten Commandment on MT. Sinai, they knew about Gods Sabbath. Before there was an Israel or Hebrew, or Egyptian, or Syrian or any nation, there was the 7th day Sabbath.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” Genesis 1:1;2:2, 3.

God made the Sabbath at the time of Creation, after He made the world and everything in it. God rested on the Sabbath and blessed and sanctified it (set it apart for a holy use).

The Sabbath and the family were alike instituted in Eden, and in God’s purpose they are perpetually linked together. On this day more than on any other, it is possible for us to live the life of Eden. It was God’s plan for the members of the family to be associated in work and study, in worship and recreation, the father as priest of his household, and both father and mother as teachers and companions of their children. But the results of sin, having changed the conditions of life, to a great degree prevent this association. Often the father hardly sees the faces of his children throughout the week. He is almost wholly deprived of opportunity for companionship or instruction. But God’s love has set a limit to the demands of toil. Over the Sabbath He places His merciful hand. In His own day He preserves for the family opportunity for communion with Him, with nature, and with one another.

The Sabbath is a sign of creative and redeeming power; it points to God as the source of life and knowledge; it recalls man’s primeval glory, and thus witnesses to God’s purpose to re-create us in His own image. The Sabbath of the Lord bears His name and seal. “It is a sign,” He says, “between Me and you; . . . that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.” because “in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 31:13; 20:11.

The Sabbath is the day above all others when we should acquaint ourselves with God through His works. In the minds of the children the very thought of the Sabbath should be bound up with the beauty of natural things. Happy is the family who can go to the place of worship on the Sabbath as Jesus and His disciples went to the synagogue–across the fields, along the shores of the lake, or through the groves. Happy the father and mother who can teach their children God’s written word with illustrations from the open pages of the book of nature; who can gather under the green trees, in the fresh, pure air, to study the word and to sing the praise of the Father above. By such associations parents may bind their children to their hearts, and thus to God, by ties that can never be broken..

His sentiments echo a 1998 writing by Pope John Paul II in which the pontiff referred to the origins of Sunday-keeping.

“In the weekly reckoning of time, Sunday recalls the day of Christ’s Resurrection,” the pope stated.

But the idea Jesus rose from the dead on a Sunday is not universal.

The Bible is actually silent on the precise moment of resurrection. Jesus’ followers came to His tomb before dawn on the first day of the week (Sunday), but they did not witness Him coming back to life. They merely found an empty tomb.

John Pinkston, Congregation of God Seventh Day

“Christ was already gone!” exclaims John Pinkston, a retired Air Force navigator who is founder and president of the Congregation of God Seventh Dayin Kennesaw, Ga. “So that shoots in the foot the belief that He was raised on Sunday.”

Pinkston is typical of many Sabbath-keepers, believing Jesus was neither killed on a Friday, nor raised on Sunday. He believes Jesus was actually put to death on a Wednesday, and remained in the grave 72 hours until Saturday evening. When the women came to the tomb early Sunday, they found it empty, indicating Jesus arose prior to their arrival.

Even the late Rev. Jerry Falwell, a Sunday-keeper and chancellor of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., agreed with that timetable, telling WND in 2001, “I personally believe He was crucified on Wednesday evening … and rose after 6 p.m. Saturday evening.”

Most Christians today think Jesus died on a Friday and rose on Sunday. They point to Scriptures indicating a Sabbath day followed Jesus’ execution. But Sabbath-keepers claim it was not the weekly Sabbath of Saturday approaching. Rather, they say it was an annual Sabbath, a “high” holy day in the Hebrew calendar known as the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which supposedly occurred on a Thursday the week Jesus was killed. The Gospel of John mentions that Sabbath was the annual type.

“The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) … .” (John 19:31)

In other words, Sabbatarians say there was more than one day of rest that week. Their timeline has Jesus slain on Wednesday – the day before the “high day” annual Sabbath on Thursday. They believe Jesus was in the grave for a full three days and three nights, finally arising Saturday evening, the second Sabbath of the week.

The mention of “three days and three nights” is important for many, as Jesus used that phrase to prove His divine identity:

“For as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish for three days and three nights, so I, the Son of Man, will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.” (Matthew 12:40, New Living Translation)

There’s disagreement if that phrase means a full three days and three nights – 72 hours – or merely parts of three days and three nights, leading many to stick with the Friday-evening-to-Sunday-morning timeline.

The last shall be first?

Beyond the resurrection issue, there are several Bible references to “the first day of the week,” none of which are clear on the Sabbath issue.

“The New Testament evidence is not conclusive, and nowhere ‘ordains’ or instructs [Sunday-keeping],” said Margaret M. Mitchell, professor of New Testament and Early Christian Literature at the University of Chicago Divinity School.

Mitchell says the “evidence is, historically speaking, tantalizing but not absolutely clear.”

She notes the apostle Paul, for instance, in 1 Corinthians 16:2, “calls on the Corinthians to treasure up on the first day of the week.”

“He does not explicitly say there whether the envisioned context is a gathering of the assembly, or if this refers to what people do in their own homes,” Mitchell said.

Another mention of the first day is in Acts 20:7, as Paul is shown breaking bread with fellow believers in ancient Troas, a peninsula in modern-day Turkey: “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them … .”

Mitchell told WND: “This text appears to show a particular Sunday eucharistic gathering, but it does not tell us if this replaced the Sabbath observance or stood alongside it, [i.e., people observed both].”

Interestingly, while most Bible versions use the phrase “first day of the week” in Acts 20:7, a 1990 word-for-word translation of the same Scripture by Greek experts Robert K. Brown and Philip W. Comfort in the New Greek English Interlinear New Testament from Tyndale House Publishers, actually renders it as “one of the Sabbaths.”

Their version reads: “And on one of the Sabbaths having been assembled us to break bread, Paul was lecturing them … .”

If the Tyndale translation is accurate, it could heighten the Saturday-vs.-Sunday controversy, since this alleged evidence for Sunday worship may not have been a Sunday at all, but the usual Saturday Sabbath.

‘The Lord’s Day’ – or is that ‘Day of the Lord’?

And then there’s something called “the Lord’s Day.” Though mentioned just once in the Bible, many today assume it means Sunday.

The Scripture, written by the apostle John on the Greek island of Patmos, says, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.” (Revelation 1:10)
“It’s not talking anything about Sunday,” he said. “It’s talking about the ‘Day of the Lord’ mentioned in the Old Testament. It’s prophecy about when Christ comes back. The Book of Revelation reveals the events of the ‘Day of the Lord.’ It has nothing to do with a worship day.”Some Sabbatarians like Pinkston believe the term has no connection to the first day of the week.

Others think it is indeed a worship day, but not Sunday. They suggest “the Lord’s Day” is actually a Saturday Sabbath, noting Jesus called himself “Lord of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:28) and that God referred to the Sabbath as “my holy day.” (Isaiah 58:13)

Thus, according to this reasoning, if any day of the week were really “the Lord’s Day,” it’s the seventh-day Sabbath, not Sunday.

However, Prof. Bauckham in Scotland believes there’s good evidence from early Christian sources the phrase does indeed refer to Sunday.

“John probably means that his visionary experience happened during the time when other Christians were gathered for worship,” he said.

“The other interpretation [equating it with the ‘Day of the Lord’] doesn’t really make sense because the earlier parts of the vision are not placed temporally at the end of history. That is only approached over several chapters [into Revelation].”

The Encyclopedia Britannica equates Sunday with “the Lord’s Day” in Christianity, stating, “The practice of Christians gathering together for worship on Sunday dates back to apostolic times, but details of the actual development of the custom are not clear.”

The New Testament, penned within the first century, never specifically mentions a Sabbath change.

“From a logical point of view,” says Pinkston, “if the New Testament had intended for us to start worshipping on the first day of the week, then we’d find ample evidence for it. Yet, it’s not in there.”

One example Sabbatarians point to is when Paul is shown preaching to both Jews and Gentiles (non-Hebrews) on a Sabbath, and not Sunday. He’s then asked to preach again on the following Sabbath.

“And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. … And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.” (Acts 13:42-44)

The argument is, if there were some kind of worship on the first day of the week, then Paul would have just told the people – especially those with no connection to Jewish customs – to simply come back tomorrow (Sunday) to learn more, rather than wait an entire week for the next Sabbath to arrive.

Man of the Sabbath

A well-known expert on the Sabbath is Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi, a retired theology professor at Andrews University in Michigan.

Bacchiocchi earned his doctorate in Church History at thePontifical Gregorian University in Rome and was awarded a gold medal by Pope Paul VI for his summa cum laude class work and dissertation, “From Sabbath to Sunday: A Historical Investigation of the Rise of Sunday Observance in Early Christianity.”

Bacchiocchi, a Seventh-Day Adventist, believes there’s no Scriptural mandate to change or eliminate Sabbath-keeping, and he singles out the Catholic Church for its role in changing the day.

“The Church of the capital of the empire, whose authority was already felt far and wide in the second century, appears to be the most likely birthplace of Sunday observance,” he writes.

In the 1876 book, “The Faith of Our Fathers,” James Cardinal Gibbons, the Catholic archbishop of Baltimore, agreed the shift to Sunday was not based on the Bible, but was solely the work of the Catholic Church.

“You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify,” Gibbons wrote.

Bacchiocchi also told WND: “Anti-Judaism caused the abandonment of the Sabbath, and pagan sun worship influenced the adoption of Sunday.”

He says evidence of anti-Judaism is found in the writings of Christian leaders such asIgnatius, Barnabas and Justin in the second century. He notes these three “witnessed and participated in the process of separation from Judaism which led the majority of the Christians to abandon the Sabbath and adopt Sunday as the new day of worship.”

Bacchiocchi also explains the influence of pagan sun worship provides a “plausible explanation for the Christian choice of Sunday” over the day of Saturn. Its effect wasn’t just limited to Sunday. It apparently led to the placement of Jesus’ birth in late December.

“The adoption of the 25th of December for the celebration of Christmas is perhaps the most explicit example of sun worship’s influence on the Christian liturgical calendar,” Bacchiocchi writes. “It is a known fact that the pagan feast of the Dies Natalis Solis Invicti – the birthday of the Invincible Sun, was held on that date.”

One of the Roman names for this “Invincible Sun” god in the days of the apostles was Mithra. There are striking similarities between the ancient worship of Mithra and today’s Christianity, leading some to think early Christians adopted Sunday worship from heathen customs.

For instance, Mithraism’s sacred day of Sunday was said to be called “the Lord’s Day.”

Donald Morse, a retired professor at Temple University, wrote a 1999 essay comparing the tenets of Mithraism to modern Christianity, explaining Mithra was worshipped on Sunday; was born of a virgin known as the “mother of God” on Dec. 25; was part of a holy trinity; and had a “Last Supper” with his 12 followers before his death and resurrection at Easter time near the spring equinox.

Mithraists were also taught they had immortal souls that went to a celestial heaven or an infernal hell at death.

“All of these religions intermingled in those days,” Morse, who is Jewish, told WND. “There’s no way to know who stole from whom.”

On the change from Sabbath to Sunday, Morse suggested early Christian leaders including Paul felt “the best way to convert pagans was to not have them change too much. Just accept their [pagan] holidays, as long as they accepted Jesus as Messiah. They didn’t really have to do much more than that.”

There’s no place like Rome

As Christianity spread through the pagan Roman Empire, it was finally given official toleration in the year 312 by Emperor Constantine, who purportedly had a vision that prompted his soldiers to fight under a “symbol of Christ,” leading to a key military victory. The emperor then restored confiscated church property and even offered public funds to churches in need.

Sunday observance received a historic boost when Constantine – himself a pagan who is said to have adopted Christianity at least nominally – established Sunday as the first day of the week in the Roman calendar and issued a mandatory order prohibiting work on that day, in honor of the sun god.

On March 7, 321, he decreed, “On the venerable Day of the Sun, let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed.” Farmers were given an exception.

“The importance of the actions of Constantine cannot be overstated,” says author Richard Rives in “Too Long in the Sun.” “During his reign, pagan sun worship was blended with the worship of the Creator, and officially entitled ‘Christianity.'”

Before the end of the 4th century, Sunday observance prevailed over Saturday.

At the Council of Laodicea in 363, the Church of Rome – today known as the Roman Catholic Church – declared: “Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honoring the Lord’s Day [Sunday]; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.”

In 380, Emperor Theodosius made Sunday-keeping Catholic Christianity the official religion of the empire, outlawing all other faiths:

We authorize the followers of this law to assume the title Catholic Christians; but as for the others, since in our judgment they are foolish madmen, we decree that the shall be branded with the ignominious name of heretics.

While some went along with the decrees, others apparently did not. A letter from Ambrose, the bishop of Milan, reveals differences in Sabbath practices in his own city from those in Rome. It led to the well-known proverb, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

Once Sunday had the imperial power of the Roman Catholic government behind it, Saturday Sabbath-keepers became less visible, though some Sabbatarian websites havedocumented mentions of seventh-day observers through the centuries.

For example, the Catholic Church persecuted Sabbath-keepers in the 15th century. At the Catholic Provincial Council of Bergen, Norway, in 1435, it was said:

We are informed that some people in different districts of the kingdom, have adopted and observed Saturday-keeping.It is severely forbidden – in holy church canon – [for] one and all to observe days excepting those which the holy pope, archbishop, or the bishops command. Saturday-keeping must under no circumstances be permitted hereafter further that the church canon commands. Therefore we counsel all the friends of God throughout all Norway who want to be obedient towards the holy church to let this evil of Saturday-keeping alone; and the rest we forbid under penalty of severe church punishment to keep Saturday holy.

The Catholic Encyclopedia even refers to Sabbath-keeping as “the superstitious observance of Saturday,” noting it was forbidden by that council.

Coming to America

As Christianity headed west, the earliest settlers to America included both Sunday-keepers – such as the Puritans who landed at Plymouth, Mass., in 1620 – and Sabbath-observers like the Seventh Day Baptists, whose first church was founded in Newport, R.I., in 1671.

When the Puritan Christians used the word Sabbath, they would mean Sunday – “the Lord’s Day” – and passed rules enforcing its observance from sunset Saturday to sunset Sunday.

Connecticut’s so-called Blue Laws of the 1650s had strict codes of conduct said to include:

• No one shall run on the Sabbath day, or walk in his garden or elsewhere, except reverently to and from meeting.
• No one shall travel, cook victuals, make beds, sweep house, cut hair, or shave, on the Sabbath day.
• No one shall read Common-Prayer, keep Christmas or saints-days, make minced pies, dance, play cards, or play on any instrument of music, except the drum, trumpet, and the Jews-harp.
• Adultery shall be punished by death.

Instructions for colonists in New Haven, Conn., drafted in 1655 and published in London in 1656 became known as blue laws.

In her 1909 book, “The Sabbath in Puritan New England,” historian Alice Morse Earle documented “lists of arrests and fines for walking and travelling unnecessarily on the Sabbath,” regarded here from Saturday evening to Sunday evening:

A Maine man who was rebuked and fined for “unseemly walking” on the Lord’s Day protested that he ran to save a man from drowning. The Court made him pay his fine, but ordered that the money should be returned to him when he could prove by witnesses that he had been on that errand of mercy and duty. As late as the year 1831, in Lebanon, Conn., a lady journeying to her father’s home was arrested within sight of her father’s house for unnecessary travelling on the Sabbath; and a long and fiercely contested lawsuit was the result, and damages were finally given for false imprisonment.

Christians observing the Sabbath on Saturday also spread throughout America, but in fewer numbers than Sunday-keepers.

The teachings of the Seventh Day Baptists are said to be instrumental in the founding of the Seventh-day Adventist Church – which claims a membership today of 15 million – and the Church of God (Seventh Day) – which has more than 200 congregations in the U.S. and Canada and a worldwide fellowship of more than 300,000.

Other Christians promoting Saturday rest include many offshoots of the Worldwide Church of God, such as the United Church of God, Living Church of God, Church of God International, Philadelphia Church of God , Christian Biblical Church of God andIntercontinental Church of God.

Messianic Jews, including Dallas-based Zola Levitt Ministries, are also seventh-day proponents.

Some Sabbatarians, such as Richard Ames of the Living Church of God, produce TV shows like “Tomorrow’s World,” asking, “Which day is the Christian Sabbath?”

On one program, Ames points to Luke 4:16 in the Bible and says, “It was Jesus’ regular custom to worship on the Sabbath, and since that time, and centuries before, the Jewish community has very carefully documented their observance of the seventh-day Sabbath, Saturday. In other words, history demonstrates that time has not been lost, that the seven-day cycle has been accurately recorded to this day.”

In another episode, Ames’ colleague, Roderick C. Meredith, calls Sunday observance “the most flagrant error of mainstream Christianity” and “the most obvious deception of all.”

“Do you realize that this deception is blinding millions of people from knowing God?” asks Meredith.

Despite such rhetoric, many Catholic and Protestant Sunday-keepers reject Sabbath-keeping on Saturday.

Greg Laurie

Greg Laurie, a WND columnist and senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., one of the eight largest Protestant churches in America, maintains it’s wrong for Christians to observe Saturday, claiming Jesus and the apostles never taught anyone to keep the Sabbath. He says it’s the only one of the Ten Commandments not specifically repeated in the New Testament.

“Of all the New Testament lists of sins, ‘breaking the Sabbath’ is never mentioned,” Laurie said. “That is because it was given to the Jews, not the non-Jews.”

Back in Florida, Sunday-keeper Roger Felipe thinks God is not overly concerned with the Sabbath issue.

“Paul is very clear that we Christians don’t use [one particular day] as a determining factor if someone is right with God,” Felipe said.

At the same time, though, the minister supports the idea of resting one day each week to stay on track with God.

“Humanity has forsaken the importance of Sabbath rest,” he said. “God desires us to be renewed spiritually. We should observe a day … to be consecrated and to be devoted to God, to be renewed and refreshed. In terms of affecting the human quality of life, it would do us very well to observe a Sabbath rest.”

25 TOP QUESTIONS ABOUT FREEMASONRY

1) Is Freemasonry A Christian Organization?

“If Freemasonry were simply a Christian institution, the Jew and the Moslem, the Brahman and Buddhist, could not conscientiously partake of its illumination.” [Albert Mackey, Encyclopedia of Freemasonry“, p. 182, 33rd Degree Mason.] We find it highly instructive that Mackey boldly admits to Masonic Adepts that Freemasonry is NOT Christian! Of course, at the time Mackey wrote his book, it was secret, available only to Adept Masons. Had Mackey ever thought that this book would have become available to the public, he would not have been so bold.

2) Is Freemasonry Christian?

“Freemasonry is not Christian, nor a substitute for it.” [C.F. McQuaig, My Masonic Friend, p. 1]

Once again, we see that, by their own admission, Freemasonry is NOT Christian! The only instance where we hear that it is Christian is from the Masonic Propaganda Division, and by those poor Masons who have been deliberately deceived by their own Superiors.

3) The King James Version of the Bible is on the altars at Masonic Lodges. Isn’t this proof that Masonry is based upon the Bible?

“Masonry has nothing to do with the Bible; it is not founded upon the Bible, for if it were, it would not be Masonry, it would be something else.” [TheDigest of Masonic Law, p. 207-209] Now we see a Masonic author admitting that Freemasonry is NOT based upon the Bible! Therefore, not only is Masonry NOT Christian, it is even NOT Judeo-Christian! These revelations just keep on coming, do they not?

4) But what about God?

“Humanity, ‘in-toto’, then, is the only Personal God.” [J.D. Buck, Mystic Masonry , p. 136, 32nd Degree] As any good occultist, Freemasonry believes the lie Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden, “You shall be as God”. 5) So, then, Masonry is not based on the Bible, not its Christian principles; then, the Masonic Lodges are not teaching religion, correct?

“Every Masonic Lodge is a temple of religion, and its teachings are instruction in religion”. [Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma , p. 213. Pike was a 33rd Degree Mason, Head of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction] Pike’s revelation here, at the 13th Degree, that Masonry teaches religion, is a perfect example of the deliberate lying policy of Freemasonry. At the 10th Degree, Pike states that “Masonry is not a religion”. Then, at the 13th Degree, the Mason is told that this statement was false, and that Masonry IS a religion. Then, whenever a person not a Mason makes the charge that Masonry is a religion, they are then quoted Pike at the 10th Degree denying it, and are never told that Pike reverses himself at the 13th Degree to admit that Masonry IS a religion. Truly, Freemasonry is a series of long hallways of smoke and mirrors, designed to lead all but a handful of Masons astray, and to deceive 100% of all Non-Masons. No organization that engages in deliberate lying can call itself Christian.

6) Since Masonic Lodges are religious temples, what are they searching for since they do not worship Jesus Christ?

“Freemasonry is a search for Light. That search leads us directly back, as you see, to the Kabalah.” [Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma , p. 741, Pike was a 33rd Degree Mason, Head of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction]

7) But isn’t the Kabalah a religion?

“All truly dogmatic religions have issued from the Kabalah and return to it; everything scientific and grand in the religious dreams of the Illuminati … all the Masonic associations owe to it their Secrets and their symbols.” [Pike, Morals and Dogma ] We wish to warn all our Jewish friends who are caught up in the revival of Kabalah study, they are believing in the very Satanic counterfeit to the Torah and other Old Testament books of the Bible that the Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus’ day were practicing. Did you know that the major reason the Pharisees and Sadducees plotted to murder Jesus, in spite of His obvious supernatural power, was because they were practicing the witchcraft of the Kabalah? 8) So, then, if the Kabalah is an ancient practice found within the occult world, are the symbols, words, and other Masonic expressions found within the occult?

“In modern witch rites, we find terms and expressions that are also used in Masonry, the Golden Dawn, and other such occult societies.” [Arnold and Patricia Crowther, The Secrets of Ancient Witchcraft, p. 22]

Once again, we see the instance where Freemasonry is loved by all the wrong people: Witches, Satanists, Illuminists, demonically possessed New Age authors, and demonically possessed leaders of other secret societies. Since “Birds of a Feather Flock Together”, this fact is one very important and concrete evidence that Freemasonry is just as Satanic as these other organizations admit openly they are! 9) So if Masonry is pushing the occult religions, surely many members must come from occult sources and backgrounds .

They certainly do! We have listed examples, below, of known Satanists and/or Occultists who were also Freemasons in good standing. Do not be deceived by any Masonic Propaganda that says these people were “rogue Masons”; on the contrary, they were Masons in good standing throughout their lives. In fact, what these occultists who were also Masons represent are the very few Illuminated Masons who had gone all the way to the “Light”, to discover what the final great secret of Masonry truly is, i.e., dedicated Satanists working to achieve the New World Order of Antichrist.

a) Arthur Edward Waite, occult writer and historian — In free12 and free13 , we quote Waite continuously, noting that his books are always published by a known and established Masonic publishing house.

b) Dr. Wynn Westcott — member of the Rosicrucian Society and founding member of the occult Order of the Golden Dawn . The Order of the Golden Dawn is one of the most Satanic of secret societies, and is highly active in the establishment of the coming New World Order of Antichrist. Don’t you find it extremely “illuminating” that its founder is also a Mason?

c) S. L. MacGregor Mathers — co-founder of the occult Order of the Golden Dawn — Thus, we see that both founders of this Satanic secret society were Freemasons.

d) Dr. Gerard Encausse — member of the Illuminati and leader of the occult group known as ‘Martinism’. According to Albert Mackey, a 33rd Degree Mason, “The degrees of Martinism abounded in the reveries (pleasures) of the Mystics.” [Albert Mackey, Encyclopedia of Masonry”, p. 552] The “pleasures” of the Mystics is a euphemism for sex. We have already noted that Freemasonry utilizes the symbolism of sex in their circle with a dot [free13for full details]. In free07 , we also note the sexual symbolism inherent in their writings. Freemasons “worship the creature rather than the Creator” just as much as do any of the pagan groups in world history. Again, this fact is one of the reasons they insist upon absolute secrecy, rightly fearing public scrutiny.

e) Aleister Crowley — infamous Satanist who founded the occult religion of Thelema. So debased and foul was he, that his contemporaries referred to him as ‘Mr. 666’, and his mother referred to him as ‘The Beast’ of the Book of Revelation. While Crowley did not found the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.], he did control the organization for many years. The O.T.O. is an extremely Black Magick secret society, very Satanic.

f) Dr. Theodore Reuss — Head of the occult order known as the O.T.O. (Ordo Templi Orientis). He was such a prolific occult writer that he gave Aleister Crowley the reigns of authority of the O.T.O. in London. This is an official logo of the O.T.O., taken off the web. You are looking into the black abyss of Hell in this drawing. This apparently is the entrance into Hell, with the Masonic-type columns on each side and the typically Masonic/occultic winged symbol above. Two All-seeing Eyes oversee all who enter its gates. Freemasonry is “identical with the Mysteries”, says Albert Pike; therefore, this scene of the Gates of Hell IS Freemasonry.

g) George Pickingill — renowned master witch of 19th Century England and leader of the ‘Pinkingill coven’ .

h) Manly P. Hall — a Rosicrucian, Masonic author, and founder of the Philosophical Research Society . Hall was world renowned as a Freemason, and one of its most prolific writers. It was he who said that Fellow Craft Masons can expect to have the “seething energies of Lucifer in your hands” once he understands the deep secrets of the Craft. His books were published by prestigious Masonic Publishing companies. Since Hall was simultaneously a Rosicrucian and a Freemason, we wish to show you theRosicrucian Cross , so you can see the terrible blasphemies of Freemasonry. Please closely observe how they have covered our precious Cross of Calvary with the deepest, most wicked, symbols of Satan! i) Gerald B. Gardner — founder of the modern revival of Wicca, who had a style of witchcraft named after him known as the ‘Gardnerian Style of Witchcraft’.

j) Alex Sanders — known as the “King of all Witches” in London, he was one of the most influential witches after Gardner. He also had a style of witchcraft named after him called, “Alexanderian Witchcraft”.

k) Eliphas Levi — one of the most occult writers of the 19th Century . Doc really understates the case here. Levi was known as “the foremost occult authority of the 19th century”. Levi’s Guiding Spirit took him to levels of an understanding of witchcraft that few men in history have ever experienced. His illustrations are considered unequalled in the occult world, and he was not only contemporary with Albert Pike, he was very influential on Pike. [Arthur Edward Waite, Some Deeper Aspects of Masonic Symbolism, Kila, Montana, reprinted by Kessinger Freemasonry Publishing Co.] Arthur Waite said of Levi, “… undoubtedly one of the most distinguished of the Continental exponents of occult science which the 19th Century produced, and his writings attain an important position in the estimation of modern schools of higher magic.” [Waite, quoted in Levi’s book, The History of Magic, in Kessinger’s Catalog, attempting to influence you to buy Levi’s book]

Albert Pike (33rd Degree Mason, Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction) was, therefore, undoubtedly influenced by Levi in his views on Lucifer. We have already quoted Pike in Morals and Dogma (p. 567, 28th Degree) where he identifies Lucifer as the Light-bearer of Freemasonry, the “Light” to whom all Masons pledge to work toward. THE MEN AND WOMEN OF CO-MASONRY

Most Freemasons are shocked to disbelief when they are told that women can become full-fledged Freemasons, as they have been led to believe that only men can become Masons. However, a dirty little secret is that women can become Co-Masons, joining as full-fledged members, usually along with their husbands. 11. Like many of the male members, are there any examples in which female occultists were also Masons? Yes!

a) Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky , founder of the occult Theosophical Society, was initiated into the Masons during the early part of last century. 12) Assuming, then, that many Masonic members are interested in, or into, the occult, what are the true religious doctrines of the Masons?

Freemasonry has counter-attacked this letter, claiming it is bogus. However, they must answer the fact that this worship of Lucifer is also written in Pike’s two monumental books, Morals and Dogma, and Magnum Opus. Every thing contained in this letter is also contained in these two books, and we havethem at this office.

Finally, history does not record that Freemasonry ever sued Lady Queenborough for libel and slander. Surely, since the letter is so damning, Freemasonry would have gone to all lengths to clear their name, even to the point of suing. Their absolute lack of such action speaks volumes as to the truth of Lady Queenborough’s claim that this letter from Pike is genuine.

13) Now wait a minute! Are you saying that the ‘light’, for which Masonry is looking, is found with Lucifer?

14) Hold it! Isn’t Lucifer, or Satan, the black god? The evil one?

“The true name of Satan, the Kabalists say, is Yahweh (GOD) reversed; for Satan is not a black god, but a negation of God. For Initiates, this is not a Person, but a Force …” [Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma , p. 102] Pike’s statement in the letter, quoted in paragraph 12, above, defines pure Satanism. They believe God and Lucifer are equal Gods, were competitors in the Garden of Eden, with Adonay God of the Holy Bible getting “temporary” victory. But, occultists believe that, at the Battle of Armageddon, God Lucifer will overthrow God Adonay and claim his rightful throne in Heaven. All Luciferians, including the Illuminati, believe this with their whole heart. God Adonay is the cruel God, as demonstrated by all the times He ordered the Israelites in the Old Testament to slaughter entire populations of people for the only sin of worshipping Lucifer, His adversary; Lucifer, on the other hand, has no such slaughter on His record, and is considered to be the Good God.

Furthermore, calling Lucifer or Satan, a Force instead of a Person, Pike fulfills Biblical prophecy for Antichrist. In Daniel 11:38, God gives this prophecy. “But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces:” Neither Albert Pike, nor any other Luciferian, will ever know they just fulfilled Bible prophecy for the forces of Antichrist. However, as we point out in free01, “Teachings About Jesus Christ”, their doctrine of Jesus also fulfills the Biblical definition of Antichrist exactly.

15) Is Satan, then, perceived to be God, the source of Light?

“To conceive of God … the Kabala imagined Him to be a ‘most occult light’.” [Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma, p. 740]

16) Since the Masonic religion is a “front” for the religion of the Illuminati, is the Masonic “light” the “light” of the Illuminati ?

18) Who, then, is allowed to know the truth, and what is really going on in Masonry?

“We must create a super rite, which will remain unknown, to which we will call those Masons of high degree (30th and above), whom we shall select. With regards to our brothers in Masonry, these men must be pledged to the strictest secrecy. The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is the most blatantly Satanic document in world history! They systematically list all the steps that are necessary to establish their New World Order and its superman, Antichrist. For the Protocols to boldly state that Freemasonry is a blind screen for the Illuminati, is damning. Once again, we see their belief, stated by Pike above, that a super rite that is totally unknown, will promote the interests of the Illuminati powerfully. Freemasonry itself is being used as a “blind screen” by the Illuminati, to bring in the New World Order.

20) Then if Masonry is only “Show” on the outside, what are they trying to “screen” on the inside?

“SECRET SOCIETIES — Meantime, however, until we come into our kingdom, we shall act in the contrary way: we shall create and multiply free Masonic lodges in all the countries of the world, absorb into them all who may become or who are prominent in public activity, for these lodges we shall find our principal intelligence office and means of influence. All these lodges … will be composed of our learned elders. The lodges will have their representatives who will serve to screen the above-mentioned administration of MASONRY and from whom will issue the watchword and program … The most secret plots will be known to us and will fall under our guiding hands on the very day of their conception.” [Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion , capitalization in the original]

21) Hasn’t anyone ever tried to warn people about the Masonic/Illuminati connection and their activities before?

Yes! Many people have tried, but few people were ever listening. All of the following warnings came from individuals who were high ranking political figures, scholars, writers, and religious leaders. These people were not “sensationalists”, nor were they “doomsday” people. They were all highly qualified, and praised, individuals of their fields.

a) President George Washington , 1785, in a letter written to the Reverend G. W. Snyder: “Reverend, Sir, it was not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati — the principles of Jacobinism — had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am.” Shortly before he died, President Washington was well aware that the Adam Weishaupt radical brand of Freemasonry, the Illuminati, had spread its poison to America.

b) In 1797, Professor John Robison warned Masonic leaders that the Illuminati had infiltrated their lodges.

c) Reverend Jebediah Morse (father of Samuel Morse) preached in 1798: “The Order (of the Illuminati) has its branches established and its emissaries at work in America.”

d) Dr. David Pappen, President of Harvard University , on July 19, 1798, issued a warning to the graduating class and lectured them on the influence the Illuminati was having on American politics and religion.

e) John Quincy Adams , in 1800, opposed Thomas Jefferson for the presidency and wrote three letters to Colonel William L. Stone, exposing how Jefferson was using Masonic Lodges for subversive Illuminati purposes. The information contained in those letters is credited with winning Adams the election. The letters were held in the Rittenburg Square Library, in Philadelphia.

f) Dr. Joseph Willard, President of Harvard University , said on July 4, 1812, to the graduating class: “There is sufficient evidence that a number of societies of the Illuminati have been established in this land. They are doubtless striving to secretly undermine all our ancient institutions, civil and sacred. These societies are clearly leagued with those of the same order in Europe … We live in an alarming period. The Enemies of all order are seeking our ruin. Should infidelity generally prevail, our independence would fall, of course. Our republican government would be annihilated.”

We live in the final time Harvard President Willard feared; the enemies of our freedoms are perilously close to achieving their plan. When qualified people like this could see the conspiracy to destroy our country and our freedoms, why do so many Americans now disbelieve?

g) The Prime Minister of England, Sir Winston Churchill, said in 1920, three years after the Bolsheviks seized Russia: “From the days of Spartacus/Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, to those of Trotsky … this world-wide conspiracy … has been steadily growing. This conspiracy played a definitely recognizable role in the tragedy of the French Revolution . It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the 19th century; and now, at last, this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads, and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.”

WASHINGTON (CNN) — President Obama lifted all restrictions Monday on the ability of individuals to visit relatives in Cuba, as well as to send them remittances.
The move represents a significant shift in a U.S. policy that had remained largely unchanged for nearly half a century. It comes days before Obama leaves for a key meeting of hemispheric powers, the Summit of the Americas, in Trinidad and Tobago.

“President Obama has directed that a series of steps be taken to reach out to the Cuban people to support their desire to enjoy basic human rights and to freely determine their country’s future,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said.

Obama also ordered new steps to promote the “freer flow of information among the Cuban people and between those in Cuba and the rest of the world, as well as to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian items directly to the Cuban people,” Gibbs added.

The president took “these steps [in part] to help bridge the gap among divided Cuban families.”

The Sabbath was given to man on the 7th day of creation week.. It was the first day that Adam and Eve saw. They Worship the Creator on they day that God Blessed, and made Holy. The 7th day Sabbath is all mankind.

God knew that man will forget about His Sabbath that is why He said remember..Before the children of Israel was given the Ten Commandment on MT. Sinai, they knew about Gods Sabbath. Before there was an Israel or Hebrew, or Egyptian, or Syrian or any nation, there was the 7th day Sabbath.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” Genesis 1:1;2:2, 3.

God made the Sabbath at the time of Creation, after He made the world and everything in it. God rested on the Sabbath and blessed and sanctified it (set it apart for a holy use).

The Sabbath and the family were alike instituted in Eden, and in God’s purpose they are perpetually linked together. On this day more than on any other, it is possible for us to live the life of Eden. It was God’s plan for the members of the family to be associated in work and study, in worship and recreation, the father as priest of his household, and both father and mother as teachers and companions of their children. But the results of sin, having changed the conditions of life, to a great degree prevent this association. Often the father hardly sees the faces of his children throughout the week. He is almost wholly deprived of opportunity for companionship or instruction. But God’s love has set a limit to the demands of toil. Over the Sabbath He places His merciful hand. In His own day He preserves for the family opportunity for communion with Him, with nature, and with one another.

The Sabbath is a sign of creative and redeeming power; it points to God as the source of life and knowledge; it recalls man’s primeval glory, and thus witnesses to God’s purpose to re-create us in His own image. The Sabbath of the Lord bears His name and seal. “It is a sign,” He says, “between Me and you; . . . that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.” because “in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 31:13; 20:11.

The Sabbath is the day above all others when we should acquaint ourselves with God through His works. In the minds of the children the very thought of the Sabbath should be bound up with the beauty of natural things. Happy is the family who can go to the place of worship on the Sabbath as Jesus and His disciples went to the synagogue–across the fields, along the shores of the lake, or through the groves. Happy the father and mother who can teach their children God’s written word with illustrations from the open pages of the book of nature; who can gather under the green trees, in the fresh, pure air, to study the word and to sing the praise of the Father above. By such associations parents may bind their children to their hearts, and thus to God, by ties that can never be broken..

Yes beloved, the worship of many is in vain because they worship God according to tradition and the commandment of man.. In other words they worship the way the man of sin (Lucifer)want them to worship. He knows that to popularize religion in Europe, he has to reintroduce a means of promoting what marketers call brand loyalty. The most historic brand the pope can offer to bond the people together is the ancient day of worship, fashionable since Babylon, the old day of the sun—Sunday. Scripture never designates the first day of the week as the Lord’s day, however, God calls the sabbath “my holy day” (Isa. 58:13) and refers to Himself as Lord “of the Sabbath day” (Matt.12:8, Mk 2:28, Lk 6:5).

In Rome, the Winter Solstice was celebrated many years before the birth of Christ. The Romans called their winter holiday Saturnalia, honoring Saturn, the God of Agriculture. In January, they observed the Kalends of January, which represented the triumph of life over death. This whole season was called Dies Natalis Invicti Solis, the Birthday of the Unconquered Sun. The festival season was marked by much merrymaking. It is in ancient Rome that the tradition of the Mummers was born. The Mummers were groups of costumed singers and dancers who traveled from house to house entertaining their neighbors. From this, the Christmas tradition of caroling was born.

 

There is nothing Christian about Christmas.  The Roots of Christmas can be trace back to worship of the pagan Egyptians deities  of Isis, Osiris and Horus.

 

The most common justification that one will hear regarding Christmas is that people have replaced old pagan customs and intents by asserting that they are now “focusing on Christ.” God does not say this is acceptable to Him! Actually, He plainly commands against it! Keeping Christmas dishonors Christ! He considers everything about it to be an abomination! We will soon see why.

Christ said, “But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matt. 15:9). Christmas is not a command of God—it is a tradition of men. Christ continued, “Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition” (Mark 7:9). Every year, throughout the world, on December 25th, hundreds of millions do just that!

Pagan Roots: Origin of Christmas

 

It is considered likely the first Christmas celebrations were in reaction to the Roman Saturnalia, a harvest festival that marked the winter solstice—the return of the sun—and honored Saturn, the god of sowing. Saturnalia was a rowdy time, much opposed by the more austere leaders among the still-minority Christian sect. Christmas developed, one scholar says, as a means of replacing worship of the sun with worship of the Son.

 Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25.  During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the weeklong celebration.  The festival began when Roman authorities chose “an enemy of the Roman people” to represent the “Lord of Misrule.”  Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week.  At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman.

 

In the 4th century, Apostate Christianity imported into the Catholic Church the Saturnalia festival hoping to take the pagan masses in with it.  These Popes and bishops  succeeded in converting to Christianity large numbers of pagans by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians

 

The ancient Greek writer poet and historian Lucian (in his dialogue entitled Saturnalia) describes the festival’s observance in his time.  In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs: widespread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked; rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits.  

 

Origins of the Christmas Tree: 

 Many Pagan cultures used to cut boughs of evergreen trees in December, move them into the home or temple, and decorate them.  Modern-day Pagans still do. This was to recognize the winter solstice — the time of the year that had the shortest daylight hours, and longest night of the year. This occurs annually sometime between DEC-20 to 23. They noticed that the days were gradually getting shorter; many feared that the sun would eventually disappear forever, and everyone would freeze. But, even though deciduous trees, bushes, and crops died or hibernated for the winter, the evergreen trees remained green. They seemed to have magical powers that enabled them to withstand the rigors of winter.

 

The ancient Pagan Romans decorated their “trees with bits of metal and replicas of their god, Bacchus [a fertility god]. They also placed 12 candles on the tree in honor of their sun god“  Their mid-winter festival of Saturnalia started on DEC-17 and often lasted until a few days after the Solstice.

 

The Norse pagans and Celtic Druids revered evergreens as manifestations of deity because they did not “die” from year to year but stayed green and alive when other plants appeared dead and bare. The trees represented everlasting life and hope for the return of spring.

The druids decorated their trees with symbols of prosperity — a fruitful harvest, coins for wealth and various charms such as those for love or fertility. Scandinavian Pagans are thought to be the first to bring their decorated trees indoors as this provided a warm and welcoming environment for the native fairy folk and tree elementals to join in the festivities. The Saxons, a Germanic pagan tribe, were the first to place lights on the their trees in the form of candles. Ancient Romans decorated their homes with greens at the Festival of Saturnalia, their New Year, and exchanged evergreen branches with friends as a sign of good luck.

But when, where, and how did this custom begin? What is the origin of the Christmas tree? 

 

Ancient Celebrations: 

Trees have played an important role from ancient times in pagan religions, and were even worshipped.  In pagan mythology, the evergreen tree was a symbol of the essence of life. 

 

Norsemen (ancient Scandinavians), Celts (early people of British Isles) and Saxons used trees to ward off witches, evil spirits, and ghosts.  Yggdrasil was the Great Tree of Life in the Norse mythology.  In the North European countries, many would lose family members in the severe and harsh winters.  All trees would die except the fir tree.  It therefore represented life.  As a result many people placed the fir tree in their homes as a symbol of life, with the hope that having it inside their homes would bring their families life, health and wealth. 

In Northern Europe, the winter festivities were considered to be a Feast of the Dead, focusing on the Norse god, Odin, and his night riders, with ceremonies full of spirits and devils. One particular solstice festival was “Jol” (Yule), celebrated throughout Northern Europe in honor of Jolnir, another name for Odin.  Since Odin was the god of intoxicating drink and ecstasy, as well as the god of death, Yule customs varied greatly from region to region. 

 

In the earlier pagan customs, an evergreen tree was decorated in honor of their god Adonis, who after being slain was brought to life by the serpent Aesculapius^[2].  The representation of the slain Adonis was a dead stump of a tree.  In Babylon, the evergreen tree came to represent the rebirth or reincarnation of Nimrod as his new son (Sun), Tammuz.  In Egypt this god was worshiped in a palm tree as Baal-Tamar.  In Rome the fir tree was worshiped as the same new-born god, named Baal-Berith, who was restored to life by the same serpent.  In Mesopotamia (area between Tigris andEuphrates), the winter solstice had been the climax of a 12 day festival (Saturnalia) for centuries. This would traditionally be the night when there was a mock battle between the mythical sun king and the forces of darkness, where good would win and trees would be decorated then burned in honor.  Ancient Greeks celebrated Saturnalia, when houses were adorned with evergreen tree boughs etc.

 

Heathen people in the land of Canaan (vaguely the present day Palestine area) worshiped tree, calling it the Asherah – a tree with its branches cut off and carved into a phallic symbol. The same Yule Log was used for all 12 days to keep the fire lit or to re-light it. It was the shadow and type of a burning lust of a man to fuel the fires of sexual potency to reproduce fertility.  The lit Yule Log was also regarded as a phallic symbol in fertility worship, representing a good omen for heightened sexuality for the coming year (fir trees being considered the very spirit of fertility since they were constantly green and undying). 

 

The Christmas tree, however, is directly mentioned in the Bible! Turn to Jeremiah 10:2-5, “Thus says the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen…For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.”

 

 

 

Fertility rites,
magico-religious ceremonies to insure an abundance of food and the birth of children. The rites, expressed through dances, prayers, incantations, and sacred dramas, seek to control the otherwise unpredictable forces of nature. In primitive agricultural societies natural phenomena, such as rainfall, the fecundity of the earth, and the regeneration of nature were frequently personified. One of the most important pagan myths was the search of the earth goddess for her lost (or dead) child or lover (e.g., Isis and Osiris, Ishtar and Tammuz, Demeter and Persephone). This myth, symbolizing the birth, death, and reappearance of vegetation, when acted out in a sacred drama, was the fertility rite par excellence. Other rites concerned with productivity include acts of sympathetic magic, such as kindling of fires (symbolizing the sun) and scattering the reproductive organs of animals on the fields, displays of phallic symbols, and ritual prostitution. In India it was once believed that a fertile marriage would result if virgins were first deflowered by means of the lingam, a stone phallus symbolizing the god Shiva. Sacrifices of both humans and animals were believed to release the powers embodied within them and so make the fields or forests productive where the sacrifices had taken place. Many ancient fertility rites have persisted in modified forms into modern times. The Maypole dance derives from spring rituals glorifying the phallus.

Even the very Scriptures of the Almighty speaks out against the phallic symbol of Babylon. “…Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.” -2 Kings 10:25-26 The Amplified Bible translates it…  … King Jehu said to the guards and to the officers, ‘Go in and slay them; let none escape’. And they smote them with the sword; and the guards before the king threw their bodies out, and went into the inner dwelling of the house of Baal. They brought out the obelisks [pillars] of the house of Baal and burned them.” [2 Kings 10:26, Amplified Bible]

 

 

Was Christ Born on December 25th?

Christ was born in the fall of the year. Many have mistakenly believed He was born around the beginning of winter—December 25th! They are wrong! Notice the Adam Clarke Commentary, volume 5, page 370, New York edition: “It was custom among Jews to send out their sheep to the deserts about the Passover [early spring], and bring them home at the commencement of the first rain.” The first rains began in early-to-mid fall. Continuing with this same quote: “During the time they were out, the shepherds watched them night and day. As…the first rain began early in the month of March-esvan, which answers to part of our October and November [begins sometime in October], we find that the sheep were kept out in the open country during the whole summer. And as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks, it is a presumptive argument that October had not yet commenced, and that, consequently, our Lord was not born on the 25th of December, when no flocks were out in the fields; nor could He have been born later than September, as the flocks were still in the fields by night. On this very ground, the nativity in December should be given up. The feeding of the flocks by night in the fields is a chronological fact…See the quotations from the Talmudists in Lightfoot.”

 

Luke 2:8 explains that when Christ was born, “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” Note that they were “abiding” in the field. This never happened in December. Both Ezra 10:9-13 and the Song of Solomon 2:11 show that winter was the rainy season and shepherds could not stay on cold, open fields at night.

Numerous encyclopedias plainly state that Christ was not born on December 25th! The Catholic Encyclopedia directly confirms this. In all likelihood, Christ was born in the fall! A lengthy technical explanation would prove this point.

December 25 was also regarded as the birth date of the Iranian mystery god Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness. On the Roman New Year (January 1), houses were decorated with greenery and lights, and gifts were given to children and the poor. To these observances were added the German and Celtic Yule rites when the Teutonic tribes penetrated into Gaul, Britain, and central Europe. Food and good fellowship, the Yule log and Yule cakes, greenery and fir trees, gifts and greetings all commemorated different aspects of this festive season. Fires and lights, symbols of warmth and lasting life, have always been associated with the winter festival, both pagan and Christian” (Encyclopedia Britannica, 15th Edit. Vol. II, p. 903). 

 

Who Was Saturn?

The Saturnalia, of course, celebrated Saturn—the fire god. Saturn was the god of sowing (planting) because heat from the sun was required to allow for planting and growth of crops. He was also worshipped in this dead-of-winter festival so that he would come back (he was the “sun”) and warm the earth again so that spring planting could occur. The planet Saturn was later named after him because, among all of the planets, with its rings and bright red color, it best represented the god of fire!

Virtually every civilization has a fire/sun god. The Egyptians (and sometimes Romans) called him Vulcan. The Greeks named him Kronos, as did the Phoenicians—but they also called him Saturn. The Babylonians called him Tammuz (as Nimrod, resurrected in the person of his son), Molech or Baal (as did the Druids). These were all simply the various names for Nimrod. Nimrod was considered the father of all the Babylonian gods.

 

“The early Romans were not celebrating Christmas but rather a pagan feast called the Saturnalia. It occurred each year around the beginning of winter, or the winter solstice. This was the time when the sun had taken its lowest path across the sky and the days were beginning to lengthen, thus assuring another season of growth.

“The Roman festival of Saturnalia, Dec. 17-24, moved citizens to decorate their homes with greens and lights and give gifts to children and the poor. The Dec. 25 festival of natalis solis invicti, the birth of the unconquered sun, was decreed by the emperor Aurelian in A.D. 274 as a Winter Solstice celebration, and sometime (later)…was Christianized as a date to celebrate the birth of the Son of Light.”

 

 

Throughout history, Isis and various forms of goddess worship has played a significant role in our world’s religious and cultural makeup. Today, goddess veneration is still very much alive and well, and images of the goddess–in various forms–can be identified in every state and province.

Inscribed in the temple of Isis; “I, Isis, am all that has been, that is or shall be; No mortal man hath ever me unveiled. The fruit which I have brought forth is the ‘SUN’.”

Isis is the “divine mother” of ancient Egypt. She was known as the great goddess of magic and “universal nature,” and used her powers to raise her dead (and dismembered) husband Osiris back to life (Osiris was represented as the Sun, he also ruled the underworld). As “Virgin of the World,” Isis birthed Horus, the Egyptian god of the sun and moon, day and night. Metaphorically speaking, Isis is the celestial mother of the Sun (son) of god. It was her son, Horus, who eventually killed Typhon, the Egyptian devil. And, according to legend, Isis–mother of all–remains eternally virgin. She is often portrayed “as the virgin with child,” and is regularly depicted as one crowned with a lunar orb and the horns of a bull.

Goddess veneration of the “virgin with child” has been a central belief for various societies throughout history, including some aspects of Christianity. Indeed, many leading occultists see striking parallels between the Roman Catholic “Virgin Mary”–the “Queen of Heaven”–and the goddess Isis. And the comparison is startling. Presently, Roman Catholicism holds Mary to be eternally virgin, just as Isis was. Catholicism also contends that Mary was without sin, making her into a type of “god.” In fact, there are some who claim that Mary is the “fourth person” within the Trinity. This belief is linked to Catholicism’s claim that Mary now has a direct say in mankind’s salvation through her (Catholic) role of co-redemption and mediation. Hence, the elevated Mary becomes a “goddess” in the Catholic faith, just as Isis was a goddess in the pantheon of Egyptian deities. And just as Isis was (and still is) called “Mother of the World” and “Queen of Heaven,” so too Mary is now exalted with these same titles.

 

While the Roman Catholic/Isis comparison shows a tangible link between Catholicism and the mystery religions, Mary as Biblically understood shows little connection. Yes, Mary was the virgin mother of Jesus, Son of God, but she didn’t remain a virgin. Mark 6:3 actually lists four of Jesus’ brothers and mentions sisters as well. Nor was the Biblical Mary sinless. Romans 3:23 makes it clear that “all have sinned”–which would include Mary. The only exception to this rule is found in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:15 is one example among many that attests to Jesus’ sinless character).

The Bible makes it clear that Christ’s death and resurrection was a completed act. The Biblical Mary plays no direct role in His work of salvation. As Jesus Himself said, “It is finished.” He didn’t say, “It’s finished, subject to the continuing work of Mother Mary.”

 

The pagan  festival of Saturnalia is usually celebrated along with the festival of lights.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Note that according to verse 17, there are three different characteristics that distinguish the beast:

• his mark (of authority)
• his name
• the number of his name (666).

It might be argued by some that 666 must be applied to one man’s name, and that this will then help identify him as the antichrist. I would offer the following verse to show that 666 need not apply solely to a man’s name:

Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

The same Greek word translated as name (onoma: G3686) that appears in Revelation 13:17-18 is also used in chapter 19:16, so clearly the word can also apply to a title, and not just one man’s name. Now, we are told that it takes a certain understandingand wisdom to discern just how this number is actually applied. Based on the fact that 666 can apply to a title, below are several words and phrases that have been put forth over the centuries as probable solutions to the enigma of 666.

The Vicar of Christ (Vicarius Christi)

“Vicar of Christ . . . Title used almost exclusively of the Bishop of Rome as successor of Peter and, therefore, the one in the Church who particularly takes the place of Christ; but used also of bishops in general and even of priests. First used by the Roman Synod of A.D. 495 to refer to Pope Gelasius; more commonly in Roman curial usage to refer to the Bishop of Rome during the pontificate of Pope Eugene III (1145-1153). Pope Innocent III (1198-1216) asserted explicitly that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ; further defined at the Council of Florence in the Decree for the Greeks (1439) and Vatican Council I in Pastor Aerternus (1870). The Second Vatican Council, in Lumen Gentium, n.27, calls bishops in general “vicars and legates of Christ.” All bishops are vicars of Christ for their local churches in their ministerial functions as priest, prophet, and king, as the Pope is for the universal church; the title further denotes they exercise their authority in the Church not by delegation from any other person, but from Christ Himself.”

So the Papal title of VICAR OF CHRIST which in Latin is VICARIUS CHRISTI, means a SUBSTITUTE FOR CHRIST, which is synonymous with Antichrist, i.e., assuming the power of God on earth! This blasphemous claim is made repeatedly by various Popes and is the very foundation of Roman Catholicism and it’s Papacy.

The MAN of Sin

2 Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2 Thess 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Scholars generally agree that the “man of sin” in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is the same entity described in Revelation as the beast whose number is 666, the “little horn” power of Daniel 7, and the harlot riding the beast in Revelation 17. See the table in  The Catholic Origins of Futurism and Preterism.To my knowledge, no Catholic or Protestant scholar has ever proposed that this “antichrist” entity could potentially be a woman. So who then is a likely candidate?

Babylon is described in Revelation 17 as the mother of harlots (apostate religious systems or churches), Mystery and the abominations of the earth. Obviously if God’s people are the chaste woman faithful to her husband, then Babylon is the opposite of this symbol or that system of worship which is unfaithful to God, and has a mystery religion and teaches and practices abominations. The harlot daughters of Rome must represent those churches that follow her false teachings and thus subject themselves to her rule, or even worse, officially accept the Roman leadership as authoritative.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) repeatedly refers to the Catholic Church as “Holy Mother Church.” In September 2000 the Vatican issued a statement titled “Dominus Iesus,” where CardinalJoseph Ratzinger stated:

“It must be always clear that the one, holy, catholic and apostolic universal church is not the sister, but the mother of all the churches.”

The Washington Post reported on this church decree:

“A new Vatican dictum issued today declares that individuals can attain full salvation from earthly sin only through the spiritual grace of the Catholic Church and that other faiths—including Protestant Christian ones—have defects that place their followers in a “gravely deficient situation” in seeking salvation. The goal, according to a top Vatican official, is to combat the “so-called theology of religious pluralism,” which suggests that Catholics are on a par in God’s eyes with, say, Jews, Muslims or Hindus.”

The word Vatican literally means Divining Serpent and is derived from Vatis=Diviner and Can=Serpent. Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica were built on the ancient pagan site called in Latinvaticanus mons or vaticanus collis, which means hill or mountain of prophecy. Coins minted in Vatican City often bear the inscription“CITTÁ DEL VATICANO”, which means City of Prophecy. The Church of Rome thus applies the title of “City” to its structure and as we shall see, lays claim to all the other attributes of Mystery Babylon as well. In the coin shown here, minted in 1963, Pope Paul VI is shown together with his title Pontifex Maximus and the inscription on the reverse side reads “CITTÁ DEL VATICANO.” The full title of the Vatican State is “STATO DELLA CITTÁ DEL VATICANO” which is the combination of Church and State. There is also a woman on the reverse side of the coin, and at her feet is her title, FIDES, which means faith. This woman is symbolic of the Roman Catholic faith, or Roman Catholic Church, which claims power over all governments on earth.

Just as it was prophesied in Revelation 12, the pagan Roman Empire vigorously persecuted the Christians until the rule of Constantine I. Prior to the time of emperor Constantine’s so-called conversion, the Christians were persecuted because they would not honor the pagan gods. The Catholic Church was formed as a means to Christianize the pagan religion. The pagan gods were gradually replaced by saints of the church, the necessary religious sacraments were re-introduced as Christian ritual, the pagan holy days were reclassified as Christian holidays; the Saturnalia celebrations turned into Christmas celebrations; the ancient festival of the dead (Halloween) became All Souls Day;Lupercalia, the feast of the purification of Isis (the mother-child religion), became the Feast of the Nativity and so on.

When Pope Gregory the XIII introduced the solar Gregorian calendar in 1582, each day of the week was given a new name in honor of a deity. The first day of the week was named Sunday, The Lord’s Day, and the venerable day of the sun.

The observance of months was changed and the new months (moons) were renamed after the gods. The name for the month of February comes from the Latin februum which means purification. This month is reserved for purification ceremonies in honor of the goddess Isis.

July is named in honor of the Roman emperor Julius Caesar and August is named in honor of Augustus.

“The LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that you might perform them in the land where you are going over to possess it. Everything You Want to Know About the Sabbath (Lord’s Day) – Is It Saturday or Sunday?

God knew that man will forget about His Sabbath that is why He said remember..Before the children of Israel was given the Ten Commandment on MT. Sinai, they knew about Gods Sabbath. Before there was an Israel or Hebrew, or Egyptian, or Syrian or any nation, there was the 7th day Sabbath.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” Genesis 1:1;2:2, 3.
God made the Sabbath at the time of Creation, after He made the world and everything in it. God rested on the Sabbath and blessed and sanctified it (set it apart for a holy use).
“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:” Mark 2:27
The Sabbath and the family were alike instituted in Eden, and in God’s purpose they are perpetually linked together. On this day more than on any other, it is possible for us to live the life of Eden. It was God’s plan for the members of the family to be associated in work and study, in worship and recreation, the father as priest of his household, and both father and mother as teachers and companions of their children. But the results of sin, having changed the conditions of life, to a great degree prevent this association. Often the father hardly sees the faces of his children throughout the week. He is almost wholly deprived of opportunity for companionship or instruction. But God’s love has set a limit to the demands of toil. Over the Sabbath He places His merciful hand. In His own day He preserves for the family opportunity for communion with Him, with nature, and with one another.

The Sabbath is a sign of creative and redeeming power; it points to God as the source of life and knowledge; it recalls man’s primeval glory, and thus witnesses to God’s purpose to re-create us in His own image. The Sabbath of the Lord bears His name and seal. “It is a sign,” He says, “between Me and you; . . . that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.” because “in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 31:13; 20:11.
The Sabbath is the day above all others when we should acquaint ourselves with God through His works. In the minds of the children the very thought of the Sabbath should be bound up with the beauty of natural things. Happy is the family who can go to the place of worship on the Sabbath as Jesus and His disciples went to the synagogue–across the fields, along the shores of the lake, or through the groves. Happy the father and mother who can teach their children God’s written word with illustrations from the open pages of the book of nature; who can gather under the green trees, in the fresh, pure air, to study the word and to sing the praise of the Father above. By such associations parents may bind their children to their hearts, and thus to God, by ties that can never be broken..

Mark 7:7 said ” in vain do they worship Me teaching for doctrine the commandments of man. Yes beloved, the worship of many is in vain because they worship God according to tradition and the commandment of man.. In other words they worship the way the man of sin (Lucifer)want them to worship. They worship the Sun God or Baal on the first day of the week..(Sunday)Lucifer is using religious leaders to champion his cause of getting Gods people to forget the true day of worship (7Th day) and worship on the wrong day..Many books have been written, organizations such as the Lords Day Alliance have been formed, and church doctrines forged, sermons preached, to perpetrate the hoax of Sunday being the Sabbath. Pope Benedict XVI at the world youth day celebration in Germany told the people of his commitment to reinstating the active observance of the Roman Catholic Church’s chief icon: Sunday. He knows that to popularize religion in Europe, he has to reintroduce a means of promoting what marketers call brand loyalty. The most historic brand the pope can offer to bond the people together is the ancient day of worship, fashionable since Babylon, the old day of the sun—Sunday. Pope Benedict XVI implies that Sunday, the first day of the week, (traditionally called Dies Domini, the Lord’s day) is the sanctified holy day of rest, “with regard to the work of creation.” This directly contradicts scripture: How can the Pope call himself the sheperd of truth when he contradicts Gods Word? Scripture never designates the first day of the week as the Lord’s day, however, God calls the sabbath “my holy day” (Isa. 58:13) and refers to Himself as Lord “of the Sabbath day” (Matt.12:8, Mk 2:28, Lk 6:5).
Beware of the lies that the apostate popes, bishops, evangelists, preachers, and teachers will tell you concerning Sunday sacredness.. Prove all things by the Word of God. Is.8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, its because there is no light in them.

A special blessing is given to those who keep the Sabbath.

We, the members of the Ten Commandments Commission and supporting people of faith, proclaim The Ten Commandments Day on the first Sunday in the month of May, commencing on Sunday, May Sixth of 2007.
Furthermore, we proclaim the Ten Commandments Day to be a day dedicated for the display, awareness, commemoration and celebration of the Decalogue which we know to be the divine foundation of the Judeo-Christian faith.

We, who serve as a council of leaders, are committed to utilizing our united passion to provide purpose and direction for reversing the enormous tide of immorality continuing to be released throughout the United States of America, and on all continents of the world. This unified voice will culminate annually on the Ten Commandments Day and provide for a united, global, spiritual platform based on the Ten Commandments. This platform will respond to the call echoed throughout creation for a true expression love, harmony and reconciliation among all nations, ethnic diversities and genders through education and rededication to the moral standard as given by our Loving Creator.
Therefore, we are calling on all community and spiritual leaders; churches, synagogues, fellowships, ministries, organizations and all who care about moral values, to celebrate the annual Ten Commandments Day by hosting local events in support of the Ten Commandments and what they represent.
Finally, we proclaim the need to heal the wounds of history through strategic and practical objectives, proactive love and obedience to the commands of God.
By signing this document, I hereby give my commitment of support to the ideals brought forth by the Ten Commandments Commission in the establishment of the annual Ten Commandments Day, and to the moral standard we acknowledge and seek to uphold by the grace of Almighty God.

God knew that man will forget about His Sabbath that is why He said remember..Before the children of Israel was given the Ten Commandment on MT. Sinai, they knew about Gods Sabbath. Before there was an Israel or Hebrew, or Egyptian, or Syrian or any nation, there was the 7th day Sabbath.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” Genesis 1:1;2:2, 3.

God made the Sabbath at the time of Creation, after He made the world and everything in it. God rested on the Sabbath and blessed and sanctified it (set it apart for a holy use).
“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:” Mark 2:27

The Sabbath and the family were alike instituted in Eden, and in God’s purpose they are perpetually linked together. On this day more than on any other, it is possible for us to live the life of Eden. It was God’s plan for the members of the family to be associated in work and study, in worship and recreation, the father as priest of his household, and both father and mother as teachers and companions of their children. But the results of sin, having changed the conditions of life, to a great degree prevent this association. Often the father hardly sees the faces of his children throughout the week. He is almost wholly deprived of opportunity for companionship or instruction. But God’s love has set a limit to the demands of toil. Over the Sabbath He places His merciful hand. In His own day He preserves for the family opportunity for communion with Him, with nature, and with one another.

The Sabbath is a sign of creative and redeeming power; it points to God as the source of life and knowledge; it recalls man’s primeval glory, and thus witnesses to God’s purpose to re-create us in His own image. The Sabbath of the Lord bears His name and seal. “It is a sign,” He says, “between Me and you; . . . that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.” because “in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 31:13; 20:11.

The Sabbath is the day above all others when we should acquaint ourselves with God through His works. In the minds of the children the very thought of the Sabbath should be bound up with the beauty of natural things. Happy is the family who can go to the place of worship on the Sabbath as Jesus and His disciples went to the synagogue–across the fields, along the shores of the lake, or through the groves. Happy the father and mother who can teach their children God’s written word with illustrations from the open pages of the book of nature; who can gather under the green trees, in the fresh, pure air, to study the word and to sing the praise of the Father above. By such associations parents may bind their children to their hearts, and thus to God, by ties that can never be broken..

In other words they worship the way the man of sin (Lucifer)want them to worship. They worship the Sun God or Baal on the first day of the week..(Sunday)Lucifer is using religious leaders to champion his cause of getting Gods people to forget the true day of worship (7Th day) and worship on the wrong day..Many books have been written, organizations such as the Lords Day Alliance, Lord’s Day Observance Society [LDOS] have been formed, and church doctrines forged, sermons preached, to perpetrate the hoax of Sunday being the Sabbath. Pope Benedict XVI at the world youth day celebration in Germany told the people of his commitment to reinstating the active observance of the Roman Catholic Church’s chief icon: Sunday. He knows that to popularize religion in Europe, he has to reintroduce a means of promoting what marketers call brand loyalty. The most historic brand the pope can offer to bond the people together is the ancient day of worship, fashionable since Babylon, the old day of the sun—Sunday. Pope Benedict XVI implies that Sunday, the first day of the week, (traditionally called Dies Domini, the Lord’s day) is the sanctified holy day of rest, “with regard to the work of creation.” This directly contradicts scripture: How can the Pope call himself the sheperd of truth when he contradicts Gods Word? Scripture never designates the first day of the week as the Lord’s day, however, God calls the sabbath “my holy day” (Isa. 58:13) and refers to Himself as Lord “of the Sabbath day” (Matt.12:8, Mk 2:28, Lk 6:5).

We, the members of the Ten Commandments Commission and supporting people of faith, proclaim The Ten Commandments Day on the first Sunday in the month of May, commencing on Sunday, May Sixth of 2007.
Furthermore, we proclaim the Ten Commandments Day to be a day dedicated for the display, awareness, commemoration and celebration of the Decalogue which we know to be the divine foundation of the Judeo-Christian faith.
We, the members of the commission, serve as a cohesive group of spiritual leaders representing millions of followers who affirm the beauty and the uniqueness of our differences. We believe that rooted in the Ten Commandments is a Divine plan that transcends color and diversity in cultural expression, sanctions brotherhood of man and respects expressions in all of God’s children.
We, who serve as a council of leaders, are committed to utilizing our united passion to provide purpose and direction for reversing the enormous tide of immorality continuing to be released throughout the United States of America, and on all continents of the world. This unified voice will culminate annually on the Ten Commandments Day and provide for a united, global, spiritual platform based on the Ten Commandments. This platform will respond to the call echoed throughout creation for a true expression love, harmony and reconciliation among all nations, ethnic diversities and genders through education and rededication to the moral standard as given by our Loving Creator.
Therefore, we are calling on all community and spiritual leaders; churches, synagogues, fellowships, ministries, organizations and all who care about moral values, to celebrate the annual Ten Commandments Day by hosting local events in support of the Ten Commandments and what they represent.
Finally, we proclaim the need to heal the wounds of history through strategic and practical objectives, proactive love and obedience to the commands of God.

WHO CHANGED THE SABBATH TO SUNDAY

What is the real historical and Biblical truth about who changed the Sabbath to Sunday. Where in the Bible do we find one single legitimate scripture stating the Sabbath is changed to Sunday?

 The truth on who changed the Sabbath to Sunday 

What is it about the Sabbath Commandment truth that meets with so much opposition? Why are there tens of thousands of Churches that observe the Seventh day Sabbath? Did you know that there are now more than five hundred denominations that keep the Seventh Day Sabbath? America are about to hold their third Ten Commandments Commission day now in 2008, and because of this yearly event, many Churches started doing studies on the Ten Commandments between the first and second Ten Commandment days, which resulted in another 100 different denominations switching back to the Seventh Day Sabbath. What is it that they found that made them change back to the Seventh day Sabbath? There are hundreds of excuses floating around to choose from as to why the Seventh Day Sabbath is no longer relevant – or is it?

In the Bible we find that there are over 40 verses from Paul alone as to why circumcision is not done anymore. How important are the Ten Bible Commandments in comparison to circumcision? If Paul says that the Ten Commandments are what matters and Circumcision is nothing, and we have more than 40 verses and up to 10 verses at a time explaining that Circumcision of the flesh is not relevant anymore, then how many scriptures should we expect to have telling us that the Sabbath is changed to Sunday.

1 Corinthians 7:19 “Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the Commandments of God.”

The fact of the matter is that there is not one scripture that says, “The Sabbath is now Sunday.” After all, this is theONLY thing that God spoke in such incredible fiery majesty, thundering His voice from the mountain top as everyone below trembled in fear and then personally wrote this magnificent law into stone tablets, yet there is not one clear scripture. Just assumptions! One of God’s Commandments supposedly goes and we do not have even ONE clear scripture. Why not? The answer is simple. It was never changed to Sunday by the authority of God so no such scripture exists. It was actually changed in favour of SUN worship, hence the name SUN-day. The English names for the days of the week are pagan names. In over 100 other languages in the world, Saturday is still called the Sabbath just as it was named at creation. This dates right back to Babel in Genesis 11 where Saturday was recognized as the Sabbath day and was incorporated into the very name of the day. The following is the origin of the pagan names in day order.

1. Sunday – Dies solis (Latin) which means “day of the sun” from which we get Sunday. Sun worship was marked by the use of the halo, or nimbus, which originated with the pagan Greeks and Romans to represent their sun god, Helios. It was later on that artists then adopted it for use in Christian images.

The halo is actually the sun behind the person’s head, as shown in the illustration. It’s easy to recognize once one realizes what it is, although it’s also often stylized to make it less obvious. Originally a very devious way of mixing idolatrous sun worship with Christianity by converts who were not all that converted, and as a result the pagan halo became a very misleading tradition in Christian art.

2. Monday – Dies lunae (from which comes the word lunar), means moon day, from which we get the shortened version, Monday.

3. Tuesday – Dies Martis, means mars day, after Mars, the Roman god of war. The day was known to the pagan Germans after their own god of war, Tiw (pronounced too) as Tiw’s (pronounced tooz) day, from which we get Tuesday.

4. Wednesday – Dies mercuri, means mercury day. Woden (pronounced woe-den) was the Germanic version of the pagan god mercury, and they named the day Woden’s day, from which we get Wednesday.

5. Thursday – Dies Jovis means Jove’s day, or Jupiter’s day. Thor was the Germanic version of the god Jupiter, so they called the day Thor’s Day, from which we got Thursday.

6. Friday – Dies Veneris means Venus Day. The Germanic version of this female god was Frigg, or Freyja (pronounced fry-yah), so they called the day Freyja day, from which we got Friday.

7. Saturday – Dies Saturni means Saturn day, from which came Saturday. The pagans also observed their Saturnalia festival in the last week of December, a time when work ceased, gifts were exchanged, and slaves feasted with their masters.

Sun worship infects ancient Israel
In the ancient world, ‘sun worship’ was one of the most common forms of pagan idolatry. Immediately after Israel left Egypt, God warned His people against being “driven to worship … the sun.” Deuteronomy 4:19. Yet Israel later yielded to temptation, compromised with the nations around them, and dedicated their “horses … to the sun.” 2 Kings 23:11. During a time of revival, King Josiah purged much of Israel and “burned the chariots of the sun with fire.” 2 Kings 23:11. Before the Babylonian captivity, many Israelite leaders rejected their Creator, yielded again to idolatry, and “worshipped the sun toward the east.” Ezekiel 8:16. At the same time, God declared that they “hid their eyes from My Sabbaths.” Ezekiel 22:26. Thus ancient Israel shifted from Sabbath keeping to sun worship. In 1 Corinthians 10:1-11, Paul warned the Church against repeating the sins of ancient Israel.

Sun worship, “the day of the sun,” and “Sunday”
The Romans called the sun god “Mithra” and “Apollo,” and they especially worshiped the sun on “the first day of the week,” also called “Dies Solis” (Latin), which means, “day of the sun.” The name “Sunday” was adopted “because this day was anciently dedicated to the sun, or to its worship. A Day To Remember – From Alpha to Omega

God knew that man will forget about His Sabbath that is why He said remember..Before the children of Israel was given the Ten Commandment on MT. Sinai, they knew about Gods Sabbath. Before there was an Israel or Hebrew, or Egyptian, or Syrian or any nation, there was the 7th day Sabbath.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” Genesis 1:1;2:2, 3.

God made the Sabbath at the time of Creation, after He made the world and everything in it. God rested on the Sabbath and blessed and sanctified it (set it apart for a holy use).
“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:” Mark 2:27

The Sabbath and the family were alike instituted in Eden, and in God’s purpose they are perpetually linked together. On this day more than on any other, it is possible for us to live the life of Eden. It was God’s plan for the members of the family to be associated in work and study, in worship and recreation, the father as priest of his household, and both father and mother as teachers and companions of their children. But the results of sin, having changed the conditions of life, to a great degree prevent this association. Often the father hardly sees the faces of his children throughout the week. He is almost wholly deprived of opportunity for companionship or instruction. But God’s love has set a limit to the demands of toil. Over the Sabbath He places His merciful hand. In His own day He preserves for the family opportunity for communion with Him, with nature, and with one another.

The Sabbath is a sign of creative and redeeming power; it points to God as the source of life and knowledge; it recalls man’s primeval glory, and thus witnesses to God’s purpose to re-create us in His own image. The Sabbath of the Lord bears His name and seal. “It is a sign,” He says, “between Me and you; . . . that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.” because “in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 31:13; 20:11.

The Sabbath is the day above all others when we should acquaint ourselves with God through His works. In the minds of the children the very thought of the Sabbath should be bound up with the beauty of natural things. Happy is the family who can go to the place of worship on the Sabbath as Jesus and His disciples went to the synagogue–across the fields, along the shores of the lake, or through the groves. Happy the father and mother who can teach their children God’s written word with illustrations from the open pages of the book of nature; who can gather under the green trees, in the fresh, pure air, to study the word and to sing the praise of the Father above. By such associations parents may bind their children to their hearts, and thus to God, by ties that can never be broken..

Mark 7:7 said ” in vain do they worship Me teaching for doctrine the commandments of man. Yes beloved, the worship of many is in vain because they worship God according to tradition and the commandment of man.. In other words they worship the way the man of sin (Lucifer)want them to worship. They worship the Sun God or Baal on the first day of the week..(Sunday)Lucifer is using religious leaders to champion his cause of getting Gods people to forget the true day of worship (7Th day) and worship on the wrong day..Many books have been written, organizations such as the Lords Day Alliance have been formed, and church doctrines forged, sermons preached, to perpetrate the hoax of Sunday being the Sabbath. Pope Benedict XVI at the world youth day celebration in Germany told the people of his commitment to reinstating the active observance of the Roman Catholic Church’s chief icon: Sunday. He knows that to popularize religion in Europe, he has to reintroduce a means of promoting what marketers call brand loyalty. The most historic brand the pope can offer to bond the people together is the ancient day of worship, fashionable since Babylon, the old day of the sun—Sunday. Hence his promotion of that old Roman brand in his recent addresses. Look at the official Catholic document

Pope Benedict XVI implies that Sunday, the first day of the week, (traditionally called Dies Domini, the Lord’s day) is the sanctified holy day of rest, “with regard to the work of creation.” This directly contradicts scripture: How can the Pope call himself the sheperd of truth when he contradicts Gods Word? Scripture never designates the first day of the week as the Lord’s day, however, God calls the sabbath “my holy day” (Isa. 58:13) and refers to Himself as Lord “of the Sabbath day” (Matt.12:8, Mk 2:28, Lk 6:5).

Beware of the lies that the apostate popes, bishops, evangelists, preachers, and teachers will tell you concerning Sunday sacredness.. Prove all things by the Word of God. Is.8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, its because there is no light in them.

A special blessing is given to those who keep the Sabbath.

“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” Isaiah 58:13-14

Ten Commandments Commission

We, the members of the Ten Commandments Commission and supporting people of faith, proclaim The Ten Commandments Day on the first Sunday in the month of May, commencing on Sunday, May Sixth of 2007.
Furthermore, we proclaim the Ten Commandments Day to be a day dedicated for the display, awareness, commemoration and celebration of the Decalogue which we know to be the divine foundation of the Judeo-Christian faith.
We, the members of the commission, serve as a cohesive group of spiritual leaders representing millions of followers who affirm the beauty and the uniqueness of our differences. We believe that rooted in the Ten Commandments is a Divine plan that transcends color and diversity in cultural expression, sanctions brotherhood of man and respects expressions in all of God’s children.
We, who serve as a council of leaders, are committed to utilizing our united passion to provide purpose and direction for reversing the enormous tide of immorality continuing to be released throughout the United States of America, and on all continents of the world. This unified voice will culminate annually on the Ten Commandments Day and provide for a united, global, spiritual platform based on the Ten Commandments. This platform will respond to the call echoed throughout creation for a true expression love, harmony and reconciliation among all nations, ethnic diversities and genders through education and rededication to the moral standard as given by our Loving Creator.
Therefore, we are calling on all community and spiritual leaders; churches, synagogues, fellowships, ministries, organizations and all who care about moral values, to celebrate the annual Ten Commandments Day by hosting local events in support of the Ten Commandments and what they represent.
Finally, we proclaim the need to heal the wounds of history through strategic and practical objectives, proactive love and obedience to the commands of God.
By signing this document, I hereby give my commitment of support to the ideals brought forth by the Ten Commandments Commission in the establishment of the annual Ten Commandments Day, and to the moral standard we acknowledge and seek to uphold by the grace of Almighty God.

Is there such a thing as The Illuminati? Does this fit into our sophisticated age? Some ridicule the very idea, but in these chapters a fascinating portrayal is uncovered.

While every Sunday School teacher knows something about the Tower of Babel, yet few realize that the principles and philosophies of that ancient movement are right now playing a tremendous role in both our political and religious life.
In this book, The Illuminati 666, we bring together many startling, almost unbelievable, facts. Before getting into the depths of our story, let us note briefly some of our sources. How thankful we are for books, even those with which we do not agree, for they show us the thinking of other writers. But some, like that century-old classic, Alexander Hislop’s The Two Babylons, open a vast area of thought and knowledge.
We are quite aware of how some scholars regard Hislop’s work. Their attitude, however, only reveals how sadly ignorant they are of the real issues. Others, like Neal Wilgus’ The Illuminoids, throw much modern light on the subject, although he does not go much on the idea.
Of course we could not expect Hislop to know many things we know today. They had not been discovered at the time he wrote, which leads us to wonder what he would write were he living today. His most valuable contribution has always been what history he opens up for a real researcher. I have in my hand the author’s personally autographed copy of the third edition, 1857, to London’s great preacher, C.H. Spurgeon. This was picked up in a London used bookstore, more than 50 years ago. Hislop presented it to Spurgeon after he had dedicated it to Lord John Scott, a contemporary who is regarded as an authority on “Primeval Antiquity.”
The most reliable book of all we possess is, of course, the “book of books” – The Bible. While we will be quoting from many authors, yet we will regard God’s Word as the final light of truth. In both the Old and New Testaments much has been brought to light to clearly identify the Conspiracy, which is the purpose of this present work. In two of the Apostle Paul’s strongest letters to the church he speaks of two great mysteries. The “Mystery of Godliness”, which in his words is “God manifest in the flesh”, is without question the Lord Jesus Christ (I Timothy 3:16). In his second letter to the Thessalonian believers he describes the “Mystery of Iniquity” whom he calls, “The Man of Sin”, “who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God (II Thessalonians 2:7, 3 and 4).”
At the time the apostle was writing he said, “The mystery of iniquity doth already work.” It was working in his day. But he foretold a greater demonstration of Satanic power that was to come. It would be backed up by “all power and signs and lying wonders” (verse 9).
Shortly after the apostle’s death, the church, which for decades had given such a powerful witness to the power of God through miracles and especially through the conversion of thousands to the simple gospel, began to “fall away” just as Paul had foretold in II Thessalonians 2:2. The elements of deception were already evident, especially while Philip was doing a mighty work in Samaria. The story of this is in Acts 8:5-21, where we are told, “the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did” (verse 6). Then there comes “a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery and bewitched the people of Samaria” with sorceries. This man was also baptized and the scripture says, “he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done”. It is evident this man was more interested in the miracles than he was with the marvelous conversions.
When news reached the headquarters at Jerusalem, they sent Peter and John who prayed for these young converts that they might also receive the baptism of the Spirit of God, for as yet it had fallen on none of them. After the apostles prayed for them and laid their hands on them they, too, received the Holy Spirit in power.
This man Simon was watching closely what was being done. Then, coming to Peter and John he said, “Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.” But there was something lacking in his life which the apostles discerned. And this brought perhaps the sharpest rebuke recorded in Scripture: “Thy money perish with thee”, or as Phillips’ translation reads, “To hell with you and your money!” to which the translator adds this note, “(These words are exactly what the Greek means.)” You can have no share or place in this ministry, for your heart is not honest before God. Acts 8:20-21.
Now who was this Simon? The Scriptures make clear he was a Samaritan deceiver who practiced divination. He “used sorcery, and bewitched the people giving out that he himself was some great one, and the people from the least to the greatest were so bewitched that they proclaimed him to be the great power of God (Acts 8:9-11).”
The Samaritans were not Israelites, they were Babylonians placed there by the King of Assyria (II Kings 17:24-25). They were placed in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria and dwelt in the cities thereof, but “they feared not the Lord.” These folk were pagans in every way. In Hastings’ Dictionary of the Apostolic Church, we read. “The amalgam of paganism and Christianity… was especially obvious in the Simonian system (p.496).” Simon Magus evidently became the leader of a retrograde sect, using some Christian terminology, but in reality anti-Christian (ibid.). The author of this baptised heathenism … was Simon Magus. He unquestionably adulterated Christianity with pagan ideas and practices (see Apostolic Christianity, Vol.2, p.566).
This paganized Christianity was already having its effect while the apostles were living, for in II Corinthians 11:3,4 we read Paul’s concern in these words, “I am afraid that your minds may be seduced from a single-hearted devotion to him (Christ) by the same subtle means the serpent used towards Eve for apparently you cheerfully accept a man who comes to you preaching a different Jesus from the one we told you about, and you readily accept a spirit and a gospel quite different from the one you originally accepted (Phillips translation).”
Under the influence of Satan’s ministers, Christians were being transformed into the ministers of unrighteousness and many were being led astray. The mystery of iniquity was already working, and later it blossomed into a full and diabolical apostasy.
Simon is never spoken of as a member of the true church – the body of Christ. He took the name of Christ and espoused a few of His teachings. These he mingled with his Babylonian mystery religion. “Thus he became the leader of a retrograde sect, perhaps nominally Christian … but in reality anti-Christian, and exalting Simon himself to the central position which Christianity was giving to Jesus Christ (Hastings’ Dictionary of the Apostolic Church, Vol.1, p.497).”
Simon’s influence had reached as far as Rome, according to Justin Martyr. When he wrote his Apology in A.D.152, he mentions Simon four times as the founder of a formidable movement. He “came to Rome in the day of Claudius Caesar and made such an impression by his magical powers, that he was honored as a god, a statue being erected to him on the Tiber, between the two bridges, bearing the inscription: Simon’s deosancto (i.e., ‘the Holy god Simon’).” Quoted in Dictionary Of Christian Biology. Vol.4, p.682.
When we become more familiar with the origin and history of the Babylonian Mystery Religions it will open up areas of understanding, throwing light on the world’s present situation. It is not generally known that pagan deities were known as “Peters” or “Patres” and that the special gods, or the Hierophantae, in the majority of their temples had particular priests who were constantly “occupied in the celebration of mysteries (see Ancient Mythology, Vol.1, p.354).” Even more interesting is the fact that the consonantal word P-T-R, indicating Peter, means “to interpret.” They were “interpreters” of the mystery religions or the pagan mysteries of ancient Babylon. It is not surprising then that Simon Magus the bewitcher from Samaria became known as Simon Peter or Simon the interpreter.
Moses evidently knew this when he wrote the Pentateuch, for we read in Deuteronomy 23:4 that Balaam the son of Beor of Pathor of Mesopotamia was hired to curse Israel. We read in Numbers 22:4, 5 and 7, that Balak the son of Zippor, king of the Moabites, sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor and “the elders of Moab … departed with the rewards of divination in their hand.” Then follows the account of the ass that refused to pass the angel and who later spoke to Balaam.
Mesopotamia was the very home of idolatory or the Babylonian mysteries. The name Balaam in Semitic language means “Conqueror of the People” and definitely links us with “Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord (Genesis 10:9).” We read in verse 8 that this Nimrod, the son of Cush, began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was the great grandson of Noah and “the beginning of his kingdom was Babel (verse 10).” He built other cities like Ashur and Nineveh, which later became the capital of the Assyrian Empire. Nimrod is styled “the mighty hunter before the Lord,” or as Dr. Strong renders it, “against the Lord.” He shows that the Hebrew word paniym is more correctly translated “against” rather than “before”. Nimrod was a great leader and he and his cohorts “changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image liken to corruptible man, and to birds and fourfooted beasts and creeping things (Romans 1:23).” The following verses of this Roman Epistle are upon the whole diabolical practice of homosexuality among both men and women, which is becoming so popular these days even among certain religious groups.
Nimrod was certainly “against” the Lord in all he planned and did. “The mighty hunter against the Lord” led multitudes away from the Creator and laid plans for a world-wide Conspiracy against God. That was the reason behind the Babylonian Mystery cults. Nicholaus was the name he was known by in Greece and that also means “Conqueror of the People”.
Some claim that Balaam was the chief of a college of priests at Pethor, a sacred high place in Mesopotamia. From that old location near the site of the tower of Babel he organized what he thought was a complete cover-up destined to become one universal religion. And his plan almost succeeded. By the end of the fourth century, real Christianity was almost dead and in its place, but under the name of Christianity was, to use the words of Griffen, “a corrupt hierarchy controlling the nations of Europe, making the Church a veritable cesspool of iniquity, spiritual corruption, heathen philosophy, and whoredoms … a closely-knit group of Satan-inspired, power-hungry and lust-filled rebels masquerading under a ‘Christian’ label but embracing all the Satanic rottenness of pagan Babylon (Fourth Reich of the Rich, 1978, Des Griffen, p. 38).”
In the year 323 A.D. the Emperor Constantine officially adopted this Simonized Christianity, which was nothing more than “baptized heathenism,” and made it the official religion of Rome. Thus was the church led into a period of degeneration, often styled the “Dark Ages”. A subline in his History of the Reformation on page 17 says, “The nations of Christendom no longer looked to a holy and living God, but had recourse to all the means that a superstitious, fearful and alarmed imagination could devise”. And that condition prevailed for over a thousand years, at least until the Renaissance, beginning in the 14th century, which revived interest in science and literature, followed by the Reformation in the 16th century. Then things began to happen. Part-1 of Chapter-1 and the following chapters of this book plunge us into the background of the great apostasy showing its results and the Divine call back to the apostolic faith found in the Holy Scriptures.
